Last year, at the first ever, ColdFusion Summit in Las Vegas we had over 500 attendees. This year looks to be even bigger and better. We are calling for speakers to submit topics they wish to give at this year’s ColdFusion Summit. Topics should be ColdFusion related, but do not have to focus solely on ColdFusion. Topics that focus on real world uses of ColdFusion or topics that demonstrate new features in ColdFusion 11 and ColdFusion builder 3 are also encouraged. Last year’s conference had a large number of first time conference attendees and people who had been using ColdFusion for less than five years we expect this year’s conference to be similar in make-up.
Last year we used Trello for our call for speakers, however this year our very own ColdFusion Community Rock Star, Matt Gifford, has written an Engage application for us to receive, vote and manage your topic submissions.
How the speaker selection process works:
- Login using G+, Twitter or LinkedIn profiles to http://cfsummit.cfml.us/
- From here you can view all sessions and vote on existing sessions.
- Submit the topics you would like to give at the ColdFusion
Summit
- Be descriptive and clear what the audience will learn
- You can review the prior topics that were chosen from last year here: https://cfsummit2013.attendease.com/schedule
- Have a catchy title for your presentation. Avoid vague titles. It should be clear from the title what the audience will learn.
- Write two or three solid paragraphs explaining what you will cover. Provide background on the problem at hand. Explain how your presentation will address the problem or issue. Emphasize the lessons to be learned from your session.
- Indicate the format of your presentation (Talk with slides, discussion, a panel, hands-on.)
- Indicate your willingness to do this topic as a two hour “deep dive” if needed
- Do not put your name or company in the session description as we want the voting to be anonymous
- Topics can be up-voted or down-voted
- The speaker name should not be revealed in the session title or description.
Last year we sold out of tickets, so prospective speakers may want to go ahead and register*. If your topic is selected we will refund your ticket price. Speakers, as usual, receive conference admission and hotel accommodations for two nights of the conference.
Thanks & Good Luck!
Submit your topic now!
*Note: You don't have to purchase a ticket now to submit a topic and chances are there will be tickets available after speakers have been chosen. But if you are the nervous type and really, really want to make sure you don't miss the ColdFusion Summit this year either as a speaker or an attendee: We got your back.
